DOMENIA M. LOJA
I Can Never Tell What’s Real Anymore
A dress painted with precious white all over it
or a plastic cloth meant to cover the table.
A soft baked breakfast bar
or a cleverly wrapped toothbrush.
A huge teddy bear with soft walnut fur
or a body shaped pile of clothes.
From words spoken to the retina of our eye,
clear signs of deception are shown.
Not knowing what is behind the door.
Is it a basket of thick almonds ready to be eaten?
Or a bomb ready to blow?
Either way, there is still the possibility of dying.
And it is that possibility and obscurity
that has given me hope and motivation.
It all happens for a reason,
The potential is there.
then again I can never tell what’s real anymore.
